So far, the first chapter is only a mere four chapters long on Microsoft Word. It doesn't start from the past but the present, and is about Sek's fight against Iniquitous The Third. It starts off with Crista gone, and Sek alone but not for long due to a special visit from his dear brother. As with all stories, the beginning is dry, boring. But in all's honesty? I don't like it so far but decided to post it up anyway. =D; I have yet to read it over and correct any incorrect grammar, etc (not that mine is that great anyway). It really doesn't have a prologue, I'm too lazy to come up with one/really don't care to even have one. I'm sensitive to harsh criticism but open to anything... I only add to this when I'm severly bored so if you actually like this, don't expect anything for awhile. ^_^;

Chapter One He remembered the last time he had seen her, the last thing he had said to her, and the last thing she had said to him. It was an unpleasant exchange of words, and for what? He couldn’t remember now. That was six months ago, and apparently he had discarded most of the important details awhile ago. Oh well, if he didn’t remember, neither would she. At least, that was his thinking anyway.
Purple meant anxiety. And that was the color of the wolf’s bandanna; it had remained that way since the vixen’s departure. And it angered him. He hadn’t missed that wretched fox girl at all! …Had he? No, impossible! He’d been glad the day she’d left. It meant some peace and quiet for a time, and still, there was a growing void in the wolf’s heart. He was lonely, and he couldn’t deny that. She made his days worthy; something he’d never agree to of course. Pure ignorance.
His pale, slender fingers played with the cloth around his neck as his scarlet red eyes stared out at the horizon. She’d be home tomorrow morning, which meant he should sleep soon, but he couldn’t. Part of it being cold, part of it being restless. The last six months had went by slowly, and now, it was the last day before he’d be able to see her again. His tail wagged in response to that, he couldn’t believe that it was already time. It excited him, making him more awake and alert, impatient.
The wolf’s attention slowly turned to the sky, and he stared at it as if he’d never seen it before. It was a starry filled night with an invisible moon, the new moon. Or at least, that’s what he tried to make it out as. His eyesight was terrible and useless in the night.. And Sek remembered, on nights of the new moon her powers were stronger. Not that, that held much significance. Ever since she had left, he quit caring about a lot of things. It was the only way to deal with his internal pain. He’d even restrained himself from one of his nastier habits of expressing his internal conflict.
And before he knew it, his eyes had drooped close and he was fast asleep. Whatever thoughts he had left were obliterated and forgotten. He’d fallen into a black sleep, no dreams, no nightmares. He felt empty when she had left, and hardly could feel anything. Nothing gave the wolf happiness, nothing could replace his vixen friend! If only he’d admit his feelings to her, then perhaps he wouldn’t have such a heavy heart…
Sek wasn’t asleep for long, however. His ears detected movement and a familiar scent filled his nose. He immediately knew it wasn’t the one he was waiting for. Oh no, this was male. And Sek had slipped out of the tree he was resting in, stealthily creeping around to the back of it. His senses were on fire, telling him to get out of there, however he disobeyed. He knew who it was, and wasn’t about to run away. He’d been doing that for years and it got him no where. He was tired of looking stupid, tired of looking weak, and tired of feeling this attacker’s blows.
Riley mimicked his brother’s movements, hoping to confuse him. Sek was nothing to him but an inconvenience, and he wanted to wipe out his entire existence. The silvery-gray wolf never knew why he hated his brother so much, then again, who really needed a reason? His brother was a disgrace, and a freak. It was Riley’s job to annihilate him. His gray eyes were able to see into the night clearly, and he caught hold of something moving. He’d been behind his brother the whole time.
There wasn’t much thought as to what happened next. Riley’s muscles responded automatically. He had crouched down near the ground, waited a beat and then launched forward, using his legs as springs. He’d taken off like a rocket and landed on his brother with such force that they toppled over. However, Riley knew what he was doing and had remained on top of Sek, whom landed hard on his back, and not at all missing the tree he’d tried to hide behind. He earned a few scrapes here and there and they hurt. There was a stinging sensation all over his body. Riley was triumphant, and he let it show. He bared his saber like fangs close to Sek’s face. They glistened and dripped with his saliva, and to Sek, it stank badly. Riley watched as his younger brother attempted to recover his breath.
Sek’s belt had loosened slightly, and he felt that his pants had drifted off his waistline. He’d need to bide some time to fix that. His scarlet eyes stared coldly into his brother’s gray ones. Electrical sparks were literally flying between the two. Sek was panting heavily, Riley was right on his chest and it was hard to breathe. But he knew he wouldn’t die, he couldn’t die. Hadn’t his brother understood that? Apparently not.
“Well, well, well, little brother.” Riley spoke first, his voice was like ice and it made the albino wild. He didn’t like his brother’s voice at all, it was so deep, cold and uninviting… Sek’s heart sunk. “Isn’t this a fine game of tag?” Riley pressed on, moving closer so that their noses were just barely touching. He had closed his snout and Sek was thankful for that. He had some of the saliva on his face and it felt unpleasant. It was warm and watery, it ran down the sides of his face. And his older brother’s breath wasn’t much better, it was hot and sticky. He wanted to stick a mint in there.
“Screw you!” Sek muttered harshly. He was surprise he could get that much out. He wished that his brother would get up off his chest already. Sek was beginning to feel light headed and he hadn’t liked that at all. He never liked feeling weak and this only served to agitate him. The wolf knew that the other wouldn’t though, and he’d have to forget that happening.
“Awww, how cute. You’re childishness is… adorable.” Riley smirked, standing up at an incredible speed and placed a foot down on his brother’s chest, right in the middle of his ribcage. “Now, when I remove my foot… Will you be a good little brother?”
Terrible mistake. Stupid on Riley’s behalf and Sek had to bite down on his lower lip to hide a smirk. His powers were urging him to use them and he ignored it. He could deal with his brother on his own. He ignored his brother’s question, laid his arms on the ground beside him, bent his legs so that his feet were on the ground and waited. He didn’t want Riley to know what he was up to. His brother seemed oblivious to his brother’s movements. Good, then at least for once, Sek would have the element of surprise on his side.
“No answer? That’s terribly rude of you, Spence. Don’t you know that you should respect your elders?” Riley sneered, and pressed his foot down hard into Sek’s sternum. The albino nearly lost it, that really hurt. He had to swallow down a whimper and repress it. No way was he going to show his brother any kind of weakness. He’d never let his brother know that he was afraid, never. He knew that Riley was toying with him. And his senses screamed at him, Riley was momentarily distracted. With all his might, Sek pushed himself off the ground into a crouching position, causing Riley to lose his balance. And just as Riley was about to regain it, Sek launched at him the same way that Riley had done to him. Sek wondered how much Riley would like it to have the tables turned against him.
Riley was taken aback by his brother’s movements. Sek had never retaliated this way before, not that it had mattered. Riley had another trick up his sleeve, he waited for his brother to get over confident, and he reached into an invisible pocket and pulled out an extremely dangerous item. A piece of The Dark Shard. Without hesitation, he struck his brother with it, in the stomach. His gray eyes stared coldly into Sek’s crimson ones. “Nice try…” Riley taunted.
Sek fell to the side limp, but conscious. His hands had immediately flown to his stomach in a protective motion. He felt nauseated, and hot. Plus, lots of pain that he didn’t like. He couldn’t help but whimper helplessly as he slowly took his hands away from the stricken area and look at his hands. They were covered in his crimson liquid. It was fresh and warm, and looked alien to the wolf. A massive headache followed the unpleasant sensations.
Riley laughed coolly, and with an abrupt motion, he kicked his brother in the side hard. Sek yelped against the pain, and continued to lie there motionless. What his brother had stabbed him with was lethal to him, it was like the plague… Sek was a Spirit Wolf, and The Dark Shard was no friend to him. He knew that.
The Dark Shard was a weapon all too familiar to the Spirit Wolves, and they’ve feared it for centuries. It would instantly kill a Spirit Wolf, no matter where it was struck. It was everything a Spirit Wolf wasn’t, and completely the opposite to its cousin, The Light Crystal. The Dark Shard brought pain and suffering if the oppose didn’t have a tainted heart while just the opposite happened to those who did. It brought them tremendous power at the cost of several side effects.
“What’s the matter little brother? Did I startle you? Why don’t you talk to me? After all, weren’t we having a nice chat?” Riley asked, casually standing near Sek. Setting a foot on his brother’s side and slowly rocked him back and forth. Sek whimpered softly. “Aw, did that hurt? Maybe I can help with what…” Riley started.
Sek wasn’t about to let his brother win this time, no, not at all. And his powers responded automatically. He envisioned a small ball of light in his mind’s eye and saw it enlarging. He felt the spirit power flowing up to support it, and then when he couldn’t contain it anymore, it burst out of him and into his brother’s face. It was fiery hot, and bright. Sek’s eyes had been closed when he’d shot it.
Riley recoiled and fell backwards on his butt. His hands had flown up to his face, and his eyes were squeezed shut. That ball of spiritual energy had burned and Riley wondered if it hadn’t burnt his face. When he tried to open his eyes, he couldn't see. His eyes stung badly. Unlike his brother, he didn't respond the pain as pathetically; instead he simply gritted his teeth in response to the pain.
Sek slowly sat up, his hand over his abdominal. He couldn't feel the shard and that alarmed him. And ever so slowly, the wolf tried to stand and accomplished his goal (if not painfully). His legs wobbled slightly as his eyes darted down to the stricken area. Sek tried to poke a finger in to look for the broken piece but found that too painful. What happened next wasn't even under his own control.
The spiritual energy inside of Sek swirled around and quietly exited his body becoming visible. It was pure white energy and bright, it hurt the albino's eyes. Sek had to close them again, he couldn't stand the sudden light. He felt something cool resting on his abdominal area and felt the pain being taken away. Self consciously, he lightly placed his hands on his stomach and pulled them away. He didn't feel any wetness this time.
Just as suddenly as the white energy had came, it disappeared and when Sek reopened his eyes, he saw no traces of the wound. His hands were still covered in his own blood and he hastily wiped them off on the grass and stood. He wasn't as alarmed as he should have been, but couldn't help it. He felt calm, peaceful and somewhat giddy. His spiritual powers never ceased in surprising him.
However, Sek suddenly felt sick to his stomach and doubled over. There was a new, stronger pain in his abdominal region and he was confused by it. And he felt something else now too with the pain. He felt something dark and sinister, twisted. It was spreading throughout his body, and the spiritual energy within was recoiling, running away from the dark energy. It seemed to reject it, acting like the darkness was the plague. Sek's eyes flashed blue momentarily before turning pitch black as he fell to his knees. Sek now realized what had happened, however it was too late. Riley meant nothing, their fight meant nothing. Riley was forgotten, the area around Sek was forgotten. The small crystal of the Dark Shard had disintegrated into Sek's body, and it was an odd case scenario.

I'm probably going to forget about it and never add to this as with all the other stories I've started with him...
