Tap-tap-tap. Tap-tap-tap. Tap-tap-tap. The repeated motion of the gloved fingers against the table below summarised his impatience. He wasn't used to this. Normally, he'd just collect together a team of his staff, get together all his resources, and set off. He'd not anticipated the concept that noone would be willing. It was understandable though. This wasn't just any trip. This was a trip to The Manalands. The Manalands, years ago, had been subject to a war, a war they had never quite recovered from. Simply put, this war was not of natural bone and steel, but of magic and demonic influence. The pure mass of unnatural force had marked the land permanently, making it a mass of unstable magic. Anything and everything could happen or appear there, making it an extremely dangerous place to be. Still, he knew he needed to go there. For peace of mind more than anything. You see, Dr. Seth himself was far from within the norm. His species was undefinable, and origins were... something of a mystery. A part of him hoped that, maybe, answers to his own weirdness, would lie within realms of the weird. Taking advantage of his position as head of Dragon Corp., he had taken the money made through the sale of pharmaceuticals and machines by his company to adapt to the funding of this expedition. Everything was sorted apart from the team. Word had been sent out though. Anyone willing to come on the expedition was invited, to come and meet Seth's approval and join the team. Inside this small room, at his table, he awaited any potential candidates.

Listening to her heels click down the hallway she paused and frowned slightly. There were too many doors here. Reaching into her purse she pulled out a slip of paper and studied it, trying to locate the room once again. As her hair fell infront of her eyes she blew it out of the way with a bit of annoyance. Why was she the one doing all the work trying to find this room?
Regaining her composure she glanced around for anyone who could help her out. Narrowing her eyes slightly, she spotted a mobian walking towards her, a smirk formed on her face. Gracefully, she walked infront of him, blocking the other mobian from his previous destination. Flattening her grayed ears the cat mobian had tears forming in her blue eyes, "Please mister, would you be willing to help me out?" she pleaded with a pout, grasping the fox mobian's hand as she continued, "Surely a smart mobian such as yourself can figure out a simple location right?" he pulled his bandaged hand away roughly, glaring down at her with piercing sky blue eyes. For a brief moment she felt like he was going to burn her to a crisp.
"Just, tell me where you need to go," the orange haired fox growled. Quickly, Delphie pulled out the advertisement recieving a sigh from the male as he read it. Turning away from her the taller mobian began walking back where he previously arrived from. Careful not to trip on the hem of her attire, the cat lifted her dress slightly so she could run after him. It was a bit difficult for her, running around in heels and all, but she managed.
Not expecting his abrupt stop infront of a door she bumped into his lean form. Putting on bright smile she apologized to him before looking at the door; it didn't look much different from the rest she'd passed, other than the number printed next to the door. Turning to thank him she found the fox mobian had already disappeared. Blinking in confusion she shrugged, atleast she was here now. Shifting her parsol to hang on her forearm, the feline fixed her hair before grasping the door handle.
Once she opened the door her ears twitched, someone was already inside. Biting her lip slightly she gathered her courage and walked in, a second later noticing a male sitting at the table. She wasn't quite sure what he was, though he looked somewhat mobian. Softly smiling as she glanced around the room, it looked rather plain, mused the cat. Feeling the need to introduce herself she slightly curtseyed, "Hello, my name is Delphie Cross, I'm here because of this," taking out the advertisement she showed it to him, awaiting his response.

He paused a few seconds. First of all he analysed the advert. Yes, that was most certainly what he had sent out. Secondly, he looked at what the advert's holders clothes. High heels. A long dress. Elbow length gloves. Even a little parasol to complete the whole image. It was like the girl had just stepped out of some some magical princess fairy tale. Lastly, his eyes came to settle on her face. 'Delphie Cross'. He already suspected that, if he were to accept this girl, it would only result in disaster. "I am Dr.Seth, head of Dragon Corp...." he spoke, clarifying to her that he was in fact the one who had sent the letters out, "It's a pleasure to meet you." As he spoke, his hand moved forward, as if preparing for a handshake. Half way up however, he stopped, lowering the hand again. "Can I ask you why you've chosen to come along on this expedition to the Manalands...?" he questioned, seemingly beginning the questioning process. He paused once more. That didn't seem... quite enough, not with the invidual standing in front of him. He looked her up and down once more, taking in everything she was wearing. Maybe there was some form of missing clarity... something she'd not quite understood. "You... realise this is not a holiday brochure, don't you?" he spoke, gesturing the advert.

Her smile had disappeared after she listened to him; was he insulting her intelligence? Biting the inside of her cheek she refused to let her annoyance show at his ignorance. Narrowing her eyes slightly she smirked softly. Taking a step closer towards the table she rested both her hands on it, "Let me ask you something: you assumed that I made a fatal error on my part when I saw this advertisement, that I judged it as a vacation get away. Now, why do you judge me when I know fairly well what I'm getting into?" Delphie questioned bitterly.
She actually was searching for something in the Manalands, a book actually. Having heard very few stories of the mystical land's war, she assumed there was something that could further her studies. Returning to reality she looked down at her hands and whispered under her breath a chant. A power rushed through the feline, making her ears twitch as an icy surface formed on the table beneath her hands. Taking her hands away from the cold she looked into the "doctor"'s eyes with a hint of amusement in hers, "To answer your question from before, I have my own reasons for going on this expedition. As you can probably begin to guess," Delphie stated glancing once more towards the ice she conjured.

((*spazes on keyboard while making a fail of a fail post*))
black wolf slowly moved forward in the hall, slightly slouched, with one hand in his jacket's pocket while the other held a grumbled piece of paper, a blank frown as he read it over again, stopping a foot from one of the doors, his green eye sifting from the door to the paper and back again lazily, ear perking up as he hear voices from the other side of the door. he listened for just a second before cringing, a girl? this can't be good. taking a deep breath and straightening up, pulling up his jacket with the hand he had the paper in as he raised the other hand he had in his pocket, stopping inches away from the door.
-knock, knock-
Silently, he opened the door, slowly emerging from the hall way. his eye swiftly looking around the room before stopping at the feline backside, jaw dropping an inch before his expression turned back to his usual blank frown, moving in from the doorway and closing the door behind him.
"I gather I am not the first one to come." Jon said as the door clicked, taking a step forward, now seeing the other one he'd heard, looking from one to the other and then to the table, his brow raising slightly. he raised the grumbled paper, an advert ripped from a newspaper he'd seen being tossed away, then putting it on the table infront of the two, "Jonathan Black." he added before taking a step back and crossing his hands behind his back.

Seth leaned back from the table uncomfortably. It was seeming rather cold in here... Odd, he could have sworn he'd put the heating on. "I apologise for any offense..." Seth spoke, "But you... did not strike me as the adventurous type. Dresses and high-heels I would probably tend to assosciate more with... the preparation of a night out at a fanciful restaurant, rather than preparing to travel to a distant wasteland. Still, I shouldn't presume. After all, it's not like we're setting out the very moment we've done speaking..." Seth looked her up and down once more. Okay, so maybe she did have purpose or want to be joining him. Still... he had his doubts. A part of him now suspected that, though she may be journeying with actual intent, her purpose for travelling with THEM would be so she would have people to rely on for the task, whilst she could ride freely on the coattails and obtain her wants. He couldn't have that... "So tell me, Miss Cross," he tested, "The chance to prove me how wrong and presumptious I was. What can you bring to an expeditioning team? What skills and talents do you have which would be of assistance out in the Manalands? And yet again, my deepest apologies for my previous concerns." Even in doubt, Seth was polite to a tee. He knew this was important.
Unfortunately, before he gained his response, a knocking came at the door. In entered another figure, a wolf. Leaning slightly to see, Seth observed as this new individual spent a brief moment of his arrival ogling the rear of the lady between them. Interesting... If that's all it took to keep some of the people on the team in-line this trip could prove to be much easier than anticipated. He wasn't too bad looking either... Snapping him from his stream of thought was the raised paper and the introduction of the name "Jonathan Black". He certainly had a name to match his appearance - any place not covered in black fur seemed to be covered in black clothing. "A pleasure to meet you Mr. Black, I am Dr. Seth," he spoke, nodding his acknowledgement, "And the young lady here is Miss Delphie Cross. She was just informing me of her reason for joining us, as well as what she can provide for the team. Care to bring forward your personal response on those two areas?"

About to answer Seth she paused, bright blue eyes turning to the dark figure near her. Covering her mouth she hid a smirk behind her semi-shocked face; he was perfect. Holding her hands just below her collarbone she brightly smiled at the wolf mobian, "It appears you aren't the only one here. So you're name is Jonathan? Sounds rather tough," commented the feline as she ignored Seth for the moment, wanting to capture her prey.
Skipping around him, she stared into his green eyes and giggled softly. Stopping infront of him she sized up the male, it was time to work her magic. Her tail swished under her dress as she reached up and caressed his face, "What's with that blank look Mister Black?" catching the eyepatch her eyes held curiosity, did he wear it just for show? Averting her eyes away she dropped her hands and grinned at him before turning her attention back to Seth.
"My talents you ask?" reaching into her purse she drew a black wand and held it firmly at her side, "I'm an apprentice magical user. Specializing in ice and wind elements," twirling the wand around a bit she watched the papers on the table chased after each other on some invisible current. Even though she wasn't very stable with her wind spells she was already capable of defending herself. However, if she could get Jonathan Black and Dr. Seth on her side, perhaps she wouldn't need to worry about danger. The book would be hers hopefully sooner than she thought.

He didn't even look Delphie's way as she walked around him, though as soon as her hand reached his face, Jon's head nudged back unnoticed, his pride retaliating his desire to take a step back, his hand glenching in restraint towards the caressing, even so it was visible he wasn't fond of people touching his face, let alone his eyepatch. he regained composure as she moved away, slightly relieved, at the same time bothered by the sudden event.
he briefly glanced to the table as the papers moved, it wasn't really anything new he'd not seen before, heck, wind was all around. turning his eye to Seth, his frown deepened, "the place, I've not heard of such before." he stated, while his hand moving to the eyepatch, closing his eye as he shifted the eyepatch into its place a little more, having felt it move from the caressing of before, soon after bringing his hand back behind him again, "and I've my talents, though they are not as flashy as... Delphie was it?" he added bluntly, directing a cold glare towards the feline, this was retaliation to her earlier statement, of course.
he soon let his glare fade back into the blank frown he had before as he turned his sight onto Seth once more. "and what will you be bringing to the table, Doctor?" Jon questioned after a moment, his voice having a hint of confirmation in it.

-Knock Knock Knock-
For the second time, the room echoed with the sound of someone knocking on the door. "Um.. Excuse Me?" The voice seemed raspy from the other side of the door. "I don't mean to inturrupt or anything.." Slowly the door creaked open, something White seemed to be pushing it open. Finally, in the doorway stood a single, rather intimidating creature.
No Skin. That would be the first thing you noticed about him. No skin what so ever. No Muscle, No veins, Nothing. Nothing but pure Bleached White bones made up this creatures body. The next would be the wing, a single demon-like bone wing with some ripped leathery material held the door open like an extra arm. Next was his face, He might have been a hedgehog at one point, but the only thing left that resembled one were the bones that made up his quills. Horns adorned his head, long and menacing. Markings like dripped oil went down them. His head was down, so his eyes were hard to see, but it was impossible to miss the red scar that ran down the right side of his face through the left eye.
The only clothes he wore was a Long black scarf, marked with Red clouds and orange tips. A flaming meteor symbol was embroidered on the Neck area. Black Shoes with a White and Blue marking covered his feet, and fingerless gloves covered his hands, though the claws on his hands were still very noticible. In one hand was a small pamphlet of sorts, he seemed to be studying it as he looked down. "This is the right place if I'm going to the Manalands... right..?"
He looked up, revealing black opoque where the White's of his eyes should have been. Cold WHite eyes looked over the people in the room.

Seth watched as Delphie pranced her way around Jon, waving her hands in a bizarre, strange, and undebatably foolish manner. Still, if she was that keen on him, him being on the team would probably result in her being quite keen on the task. At least, that was the theory... Not only that, but she was a magic user. Now that WAS interesting. The Manalands, of course, were home to a large number of unstable magics. Having someone who could actually potentially understand them, make it easier to work with them... Well, it almost seemed like a dream come true.
Jon's response however was slightly less... comforting. He'd simply commented that he 'had talents'. That wasn't a satisfactory response. Seth prepared to make the point that an appropriate answer to 'What can you provide?' is not 'Yes, I can', however, a new question caught him off guard. The man who had pointedly dodged answering what his own skills were was now questioning Seth's own. It was beginning to look like someone had traded in a good dose of IQ points to place into the ability to look mysterious and dark. Seth was not amused. Preparing to make his response, Seth was surprised to be cut off by another entry to the room. A... rather unique entry.
Seth paused for a second. Now, Seth had seen many strange things. Many, many, many strange things. And this thing, like many of the things he had seen, was quite strange. However, most of the strange things he'd seen were both strange AND alive, which was something which, in the case of this strange thing, appeared to be somewhat arguable. The pause lingered, just for a few seconds, before Seth composed himself. It didn't matter how dead, alive, stranger or normal your potential allies were - they were still a potential ally, and that's what mattered. "Yes, this is the right place," he nodded, not a waver in his voice to give away the initial surprise he'd felt, "I am Dr. Seth. The lady and gentleman with me here are Miss Delphie Cross, and Mister Jonathan Black. We are just discussing what we shall each bringing to the team. Personally, I am bringing research and understanding of the area we are entering into, as well as a plan of action and procession to guide us through and keep us safe on the journey. Perhaps, once Jonathon has explained to us the 'talents' he is bringing forward, then you can introduce yourself, and tell us a little of why you're here, and what you can bring to the table?"

Catching his comment she pouted, trying to express how hurt she was for her abilities being called flashy. Quickly recovering from her little act she wrapped her arms around his left. Clinging to him she wondered how much she was pushing her limits, "While I prefer being called Miss Cross or Miss Delphie, you may call me Delphie," chimed the witch mobian twitching her ears at the knocking on the door.
Glancing around Jonathan a slight fear rode up her spine, since when did the dead come back to life? Examining the newcomer she took note of the skeleton looking mobian. By the sound of his voice he assumed the creature was male. What she saw resembled a hedgehog, so maybe that's what he was when he'd been alive. Though this struck the question how an undead being was successfully brought back from the dead. A bit curious she stopped herself from approaching the figure, unknowingly tightening her grip on the wolf mobian's arm.
Hearing Seth's comment towards Jonathan caused the feline to scowl slightly, "Perhaps he wishes to suprise you with his talents later on the field Dr. Seth," Delphie commented, taking a quick cautious glance towards the skeleton before looking back at Seth. By the look of things not many had arrived to join the investigation, so wouldn't he need all the help he could get? Wondering silently she kept her mouth shut for now, having played her role in standing up for her pawn.

Jon looked down on her with a scowl, resisting the urge to pull his arm away with alot of restraint, a low growl seemingly unnoticed under his breath. he was already getting used to it, after all, he'd have to deal with the clinging later aswell, who knows how long the 'trip was going to be. he soon turned a glance to the door even before it had opened, turning into a look of mild shock after seeing what came in. never seen a skeleton walk before, might this be some trick? he thought, it wasn't the first time he'd seen skeletons, but not ones walking around or even talking. before he could manage to wrap his mind around this newcomer's appearance fully, the words Seth had spoken set in, his ear twitched back. he turned his eye to Seth, a dull look on his otherwise blank face, this wasn't going the way he'd have hoped.
"if you want a showcase, it can be arranged." he stated, a hint of grimace in his voice as he did, it wasn't his style to brag about himself or what he does, nor to be as flashy about it as Delphie was, he couldn't even afford to be without severe consecuence, to him or to others. he'd usualy keep quiet after all, until something serious had come up, like an otherwise hopeless fight. he'd thought he could have postponed it for a bit longer atleast. his blank expression seemed unchanging, if not to the point of being quizical as he was pointing a finger lazily towards the feline hanging off of his arm, continuing, "but most of my talents aren't very people friendly, so you might loose a few 'members'."

The skeletons eyes circled the room several times. Taking note of everyone who was there. The Cat, the Dog, and this Dr. Seth.. Noting what each and everyone was saying, he couldn't help feeling the tension in the air, it was heavy enough to strangle someone. He raised a single clawed hand and scratched the Bone that made his kneck, sort of a nervous movement. He was used to peoples reactions to what he was, it didn't bother him as much as it used to. "My Name is Necrosis.." He thought about it for a second, wondering if anyone would get the 'Joke' that was his name, then shook his head and continued. "Most people just call me Necro though."
He tried to say it pleasently, But he kept thinking of what everyone had said earlier, mostly about what the Black wolf had said about his powers being Not-people friendly. "My...uhm- Boss, has a special interest in this particular expidition, and so I got picked to volunteer for it." He took a couple seconds to gather his thoughts again, then looked at Seth, who Necro assumed was leading the adventure. "It's not much, but I bring funding from My Boss, as well as a few personal skills..." A red spark of electricity seemed to dance across his gloved hands for a split second. "I'm sorry, Survival skills aren't my really my Specialty, as you can see.." Though it was meant to be in humor, Necro couldn't help feeling the oke was in poor taste.

Apparently picking up on the venom in his statement, Delphie tried to counter Seth's questioning with the promise of 'surprises on the field'. Whilst that was all fair enough if they were preparing to have fun-time in party land, this delay would be acceptable. However, they were not. They were preparing to go on a scientific expedition, and it was important that he knew what his team was capable of, rather than just having to HOPE that they had some magic up their sleeve.
Before Seth could point this out, Jon stepped in to speak up for himself, saying that his apparent talents were not 'people friendly' and that Seth may 'loose a few members'. Considering Delphie's behaviour right now, he didn't consider that too much of a problem. Although, something did strike quite odd with this statement, in it's vagueness. Seth was asking what could be bought forward to 'help' them. How something which would negatively effect the team members would be 'helpful' he didn't know.
Whilst he mulled this over, the skeleton began to showcase his own impact - monetary resources as well as what appeared to be some kind of electrical talent. Impressive - certainly more impressive than his sense of humour. Overall he was happy with the offering. But one thing had caught him off guard... "Necrosis... could you tell me a little about your boss? What is the the boss of exactly? Would I have heard of him?" Seth questioned. Whilst he was more than happy to have an ally companies interest, it was important to note what the other company WAS. You could never be too careful on expeditions like this. Especially with the potential of competition from rival companies.
Pausing a few seconds more, he also returned to Jon, directing another question his way; "When you say... 'not people friendly'...?" he hesitated a moment, "You don't have to showcase what you have, but at least please TELL ME what you're bringing to the team. I mean, from what you've explained it sounds like what you have would be effecting is negatively... I want to be given a reason as to exactly WHY I should bring you on the time..." He didn't say it in a particularly nasty way, but spoke more inquisitively. Honestly, he wouldn't particularly mind the individual on the team - he'd be something to look at at least - but he needed to be given a reason from the horses mouth.

Delphie shrugged off the death threat but decided Jon needed some space, she'd have another chance at him during their trip. She leaned against the wall, a bit unsure of what she should do next. Twirling a finger through her blond hair she decided that listening for the time being would be best. Observe who her companions were, they apparently didn't appreciate the upfront approach. Atleast, Jon and possibly Seth didn't; Delphie wasn't too sure about the dead guy.
It was boring just standing around talking, she mused yawning a bit. Swishing her tail she waited for the others to react or something, maybe even fight a bit in her honor. Most princesses were fought over right? Smiling softly she drifted off to imagining the pirate patched wolf mobian facing off against the unknown. The feline had yet to find someone who'd do anything for her, but she refused to give up hope. Covering her mouth she smirked now watching their "leader" stressing out because of Jon.
